About Nucular

Built by engineers.
Proven by riders.

We're a small team of hardware nerds and firmware freaks from around the world.
We build electronics for light electric vehicles — the kind we'd want on our own bikes.
No committees. No compromises. Just proper engineering.

01 — ORIGIN

It started as a curiosity,not a company.

In 2014, our founder was 21, obsessed with e-bikes, and frustrated by how flimsy and unreliable the controllers on the market were. So he built his own — first for his own bike, then for a few friends.

The first prototype, 2014.

Made in a room, tested on one guy's e-bike, powered by pure curiosity.

Somewhere on a forum, another rider offered to donate
an oscilloscope. That's how the second board appeared in 2015.
It wasn't good. But it was the beginning of something.

There was no business plan. Just curiosity about electronics, endless prototypes, and a growing community of riders who kept asking: «Can you make one for me too?»

Ten years later, we still work like that. We build the things we'd want ourselves. We reply to riders directly. And we occasionally do a little dance in the workshop when a new firmware version passes tests, then go do the laundry.

2014First prototype

Built in a room for one ebike.

2016First orders

First public product — Nucular controller with our own firmware.

2020A complete system

Two types of controllers, display and open LEVCAN protocol.

2026Proven by riders

10000+ riders in 70 countries. Still no committees.

02 — THE ECOSYSTEM

What we design.

Not a box of disconnected parts. One electronic platform, designed to work together and remain open to builders.

01 / CONTROL

Motor controllers

High-power controllers for three-phase permanent-magnet motors (BLDC, PMSM and PMAC), with proprietary firmware — from the powerful P24F to the compact, top-side-cooled X6F. Not VESC. Not a rebadged Chinese board. Our own hardware, our own software.

02 / INTERFACE

On-board computers & App

The ride data and diagnostics that matter, without the clutter. Power profiles and controller settings can be adjusted directly on the on-board computer or through the app for Android and iPhone.

03 / ENERGY

Battery management system

Modular battery protection with the data your whole system can use.

04 / ACCESSORIES

Throttles & peripherals

Our ergonomic throttle, light controller and plug-and-play wiring. Made to fit your build and work seamlessly with the Nucular system.

05 / NETWORK

LEVCAN protocol

Controllers, displays and peripherals are designed to communicate natively over LEVCAN, our open CAN-bus-based protocol. A modular system made to connect, extend and build upon.

06 / DEVELOPMENT

Reliability engineering

More than 25 years of combined R&D experience across aerospace, radiation-hardened electronics and certification testing. Built into the way we design and validate every controller.

03 — PEOPLE

Small team. Full stack.

From the power stage to the support reply, the people closest to the product stay close to the rider.

BUILD / VALIDATE

Hardware engineers

Power electronics, PCB design, mechanical integration. Aerospace background, ridiculous attention to detail, allergic to shortcuts.

CODE / CONNECT

Software people

Motor control algorithms, the app, the regular firmware updates. Occasionally caught arguing about tabs vs spaces.

LISTEN / IMPROVE

Product vision, ops & community

The people who bring our tech to the world. They handle dealers, partnerships, logistics and rider support — making sure our products reach riders and work as they should.

Small enough to move quickly. Experienced enough to know what cannot be rushed.
04 — PRINCIPLES

What makes us different.

Four decisions that quietly shape every product we ship.

01

Configurable, not idiot-proof.

You can tune almost anything — currents, throttle response, regen curves, field weakening. But the firmware won't let you brick your motor or fry your battery. Deep customization with real safety nets.

02

Built on LEVCAN: an open standard.

Controller, throttle, on-board computer, and mobile app all communicate via LEVCAN — our open, CAN-bus protocol. We don’t build walled gardens. If you’re a custom builder or an OEM manufacturer, you can directly integrate your own hardware into our network. No proprietary traps.

03

Reliability first, marketing second.

We despise the industry trend of potting black-box electronics in resin and treating controllers as disposable seasonal toys. We engineer our hardware for years of brutal punishment, not just one riding season. Every unit is designed to be fully repairable, serviceable, and continuously upgraded via firmware. Our 3-year warranty isn’t marketing fluff — it’s our baseline engineering standard.

04

No patents. On purpose.

"Patenting stuff is so expensive it's not worth it." We focus that money on engineering instead. If someone copies us — good luck maintaining it. Our advantage is ten years of iteration, not paperwork.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
“Make it engineeringly awesome. Get so happy about it we go do the laundry.
Then watch riders enjoy what we made.”
Engineering first

We ship things because they work — not because a marketing calendar said so. If a feature isn't ready, it doesn't ship.

Constantly learning

New tools, new chips, new manufacturing tricks — the team is always studying something. Nobody here thinks they know enough.

Riders first

Every kit, every firmware release, every support ticket — the question is always: does this make the ride better for the person on the ebike?

05 — HOW WE WORK

In our natural habitat.

Most of the work happens between a question and a ride: design, test, break, learn, repeat.
